To be brutally honest with you, I’ve never really got the saying ‘when life gives you lemons, make lemonade!’ mostly because I really like lemons, in particular that uncomfortable tang that hits the side of your tongue and makes you screw your face up. Maybe I am a masochist? I don’t know, probably. But if you are inclined to be feeling a little crappy, I’d suggest grabbing your favourite things (for me, that’s flowers, @pugthepoppy, and some records) and make some bloody lemonade!
Today I am wearing a cute little skirt I picked up this week from Weekends Boutique, I believe their target market is for the ‘mature lady’, but that basically just means my bottom fits into things – it has pockets and they have some lovely stuff – top is from H&M and shoes from Kmart – I love a bargain!
So, here is my delicious traditional lemonade recipe, it takes 15 minutes to make and is a total crowd pleaser!
You will need:
6 lemons (to make a cup of juice)
1 cup of sugar
6 cups of water (1 warm cup and 5 to add to the mix later)
Ice and sliced lemon to serve
- Put the cup of sugar in a medium sized pot, add 1 cup of warm water from the tap, pop the stove on high and give it a little stir, until you can’t see the sugar anymore. Remove.
- While that cools, juice your lemons, baby!
- Add the whole kit and caboodle into one fantastic looking vessel, add ice, and voila!
I personally added a cheeky shot of gin, it was so delicious I had two! Poppy even sealed it with a kiss!
