Mrs Douglas

Normally JB and I live in a super tiny apartment, it’s 39sqm and what it doesn’t have in size, it makes up for in location, she’s right across the road from one of Perth’s best parks and you can walk or ride pretty much every where. It looks like a crack den on the outside, but she’s mighty pretty on the inside and everyone that’s anyone has said ‘oh, yeh, I lived in that building’. We aren’t there right now though.

JB’s folks have flown all the way over from Scotland to visit us, we must be nice, it’s been three and a half years since they have been here, so maybe not that nice, eh? 😉

With pure luck, friends of ours weren’t staying at their house for the exact amount of time that JB’s parents were going to be here, and they were kind enough to let us stay…maybe it was so that they will still covered by insurance, I am not too sure, but I am not going to question it.

Anyway, it is the most amazing house and I thought I’d show off some of my favourite parts…

What I love about the place is it doesn’t blow you away with heaps of detail everywhere, it is little snippets of pretty in each room. After spending a few weeks here you start to notice one by one…like how the light comes through the bathroom window in the afternoon.

IMG_1632The fun detail on the door on the ‘boys toilet’ or ‘jobby toilet’ (Scottish for poop).

The stain glass window in our boudoir, perfect every single morning, and for that day I was laid up in bed.

This vine was completely bare when we first arrived, my father-in-law said ‘it’s as if it is growing right in front of your very eyes!’.

It provides perfect ‘family photo’ opportunities with lovely lighting!

…and some fun vintage finds to play dress ups with!

We’ll be here for a little bit longer, it’s great while Poppy can’t go outside while waiting for her vaccinations to kick in, so the extra space to house the five of us and all the guest we’ve been having over, is simply perfect!

Bisous!
